St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Midleton – 2016

SPD16 GDavies-5

Given the current national preoccupation with the one-hundredth anniversary of the 1916 rising, “Feels Like It’s Been Raining Since 1916” coupled with a model of Noah’s Ark was probably not what those who chose the “1916” theme had in mind but it didn’t half capture the mood after, what seems like, an eternity of rain and flooding over the past four or five months!

The 2016 Midleton Parade was held in beautiful sunshine with record crowds lining the streets. As the 3pm start ticked by, the Midleton Concert Band began to make its way towards the top of the town followed by a varied selection of imaginative floats and representatives of the various clubs and organisations from the town and surrounding areas.

Well done to the organisers and participants for another great family and fun day out.

St. Patrick’s Day, 2014 – Midleton

The 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Midleton was another great occasion with a large crowd turning out to get the best view. The weather played its part too, holding mostly dry for the duration.

ECCG members were out in force to capture the day in photos. Take a look at a selection in the slideshows below. Mouse over the image to access the slideshow controls.
