Dragon picks up his copy of the ECCG 2017 Calendar

bobby-kerr-eccg-calendar

RTÉ’s Dragons Den star and businessman, Bobby Kerr, picked up his copy of our 2017 calendar from ECCG Vice Chairman, Kevin Day when he visited Whitegate recently.

Featuring scenes of Cork, the calendar is always a popular choice with many copies finding their way to various parts of the world in time for the New Year.

The calendar is now on sale for only €5 at McCarthy News, Hurley’s SuperValu, Al’s Newsagent, Market Green, Owenacurra Pharmacy and Murphy’s Pharmacy, Mill Rd – all in Midleton. It’s also available at Day’s Eurospar, Whitegate. A portion of the proceeds every year goes to local charities with East Cork Rapid Response, My Place, Midleton and Ballycotton Lifeboat being among the latest to benefit.

A fantastic stocking filler for Christmas, with each purchase comes an entry form to enter our free draw to win a family membership to Trabolgan Holiday Village for the 2017 season.

Like Dragon Bobby, you can get your hands on the best deal around this Christmas too although, be warned, stocks are dwindling fast.

How I Took That Shot – Kevin Day

For the third time this year, Kevin Day took first place in Grade B in our internal competitions. This time around, in our fourth internal competition of the year, the theme was ‘Vintage’ and this is how he made the image:

I was walking past a  small second hand shop in Cork the previous week and I just spotted an old camera in the window. With ‘Vintage’ in mind, I bought the old ‘bellows Kodak  autographic’ for  €40.

A neighbour of mine was willing to pose and dress accordingly and, to complete the scene, what better than a vintage bottle of ‘Midleton Very Rare’?

I used   a couple of lights – no flash.

Well done Kevin
